Do You Make Follow-Up Calls? If Yes, What Do You Say?

I had someone asks me this question via email. I believe this was a great question. A great question because her thoughts are in the right place. She really wants to do better and service her clients in a new way. As an Artist in the Hair n Beauty Industry, you must stay on top of your game. Clients go to different Artists for different reasons. Don't let a great client slip away just because you didn't take two (2) seconds to follow-up with them. There are so many things that can be discovered during a follow-up call.  A few reasons I found a follow-up call to be beneficial was:
1- The client wanted to book their next appointment right then and there
2- The client told you that they referred 5 people to you on the way home because they were stopped on the street
3- The client had an issue with their hair and you were able to squeeze them in right away before they blew up and bashed you all over the internet, lol. I'm laughing but it's so true. It happens.

So what do you say? Simply ask them how's their hair and how was their experience with you. You'd be amazed just how much those two (2) little questions can have an affect on the client and your business. 1st of all its a great gesture, 2- the client will feel special because most artists DO NOT take the time to do it, which leads us to 3- it makes you stand out from the rest, 4- it shows that you dare to be different and 5- it takes two (2) seconds to accomplish. Those two (2) seconds could change your business forever. So be encouraged and know, that even if they never sit in your chair again, it was a great gesture and should be common practice.

TIP- Follow-up calls should be made within 3-5 days. Lastly, write a script until you memorize it and then throw it away when you got it. It will then become 2nd nature and roll right off your tongue.

Once you start your follow-ups, keep me updated with the outcome. Until next time. ;)

If this has helped you in anyway, please leave a comment and share it on Twitter and Facebook. Oh, and for God sake, please don't forget to subscribe to this blog.
